I graduated in 2013 from West Texas A&M University with a degree in General Studies with emphasis in Sports & Exercise Science, Spanish. While there, I participated in the NCAA DII as a soccer player, and also as an assistant coach for WTAMU Men’s Soccer Program. I have 10+ years of coaching experience at different levels. I have coached at universities, academies, soccer clubs, as well as at the professional level. I am currently part of Houston Dynamo Youth Soccer Club coaching staff. I possess 3 different teaching certifications at all school levels from the Texas Board of Education. I am certified by the State of Texas as a Generalist Bilingual elementary school teacher (early childhood – 6th grade). I am also certified as Physical Education teacher by the State of Texas. I am also certified as Lote-Spanish 6-12 teacher by the State of Texas. I have worked in schools for the past 6 years. I offer a history of proven results in education, due to my commitment to the of success of each one of my students, as well as proven results as a soccer coach, due to my personal desire to use soccer as an instrument to improve the life of everyone around me.
I also have more than 25 years of soccer experience as a player at amateur, semi-professional, professional and intercollegiate levels. I have played in many tournaments in the United States and Mexico. This experience has given me the opportunity to learn many different styles of soccer from a diverse set of coaches, players, and clubs. I spent the 12 months working as assistant strength and conditioning coach with a Liga de Ascenso Mexican Professional team Potros de la Universidad del Estado de Mexico, located in Toluca, Mexico. I have completed 3 Coaching Licenses offered by the United States Soccer Federation earning License E, License D, and most recent License C in the professional coaching path. I am also currently enrolled in a training course which prepares candidates who are looking to become a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with the U.S. National Strength & Conditioning Association.
I am excited to continue working with young players, teaching them a sport I love, while living in Houston Area. In the month of January 2018, I successfully concluded two online certifications from Barça Innovation Hub, one in Neuroscience and Training, and another one in Training for Team Sports. I am excited to put into practice the concepts learned in these courses, which will be very beneficial to athletes to optimize their performance. I am also currently enrolled to obtain my Masters in Football Soccer from F.C. Barcelona Universitas and National Institute of Physical Education of Cataluña.
It is a pleasure to work at Oak Ridge high school. I am looking forward to improving the program in the following years to come.
We can make history together.
